A wrought iron piece would usually cost around 30 to 50% less than accessories that are made up of other metals like copper, brass, silver or stainless steel. But then again, the price is just the wow factor. It is what draws a person to get interested to a certain wrought iron item. However, when asked, patrons can give you 101 reasons why they love anything and everything made out of wrought iron.

Here are a few of the reasons that may top their list.

1.    Apart from being cheap, these items are sturdier compared to other items of a different make. They do not shatter like glass and the metal is not as susceptible to fire compared to wood. Wrought iron is also famous for patio furniture because they are relatively heavy. Their weight enables them to withstand strong winds brought about by storms.
2.    Given enough care and maintenance, they can outlast all your other furniture and home accents. Yes, the metal rusts but if you take good care of them, you will be able to enjoy their beauty for years and maybe even decades. Don’t worry, maintaining them does not really cost a lot. All you have to do is to retouch them with paint in case of chips and scratches.
3.    They make great conversation pieces. Why? Because most of them are not just decorations per se, but they also prove to be functional. Paper towel holders for example are one of the few things that are often neglected in a home. This is because they are boring and they oftentimes just stay in the kitchen. But with some intricate leaves and vine design, you can give your paper towel holders and additional flair. When put on top of the table or kitchen counter, the then boring piece will be worthy enough to grace your conversations.
4.    They are versatile as they can easily acquire a new look. If you need them to suit a different theme, you can simply paint them with a more appropriate color. Given a new paint they can appear modern, rustic or Zen.
5.    As a consumer, you get to have a lot of choices. If you have enough resources, you can go for the antique wrought iron pieces. If not, you can always opt for the ones that are recently crafted. Moreover, you can get nearly anything and everything in wrought iron. From candelabras to wine racks, to napkin holders, pot hangers and trays, you can find something made out of wrought iron.
6.    Last and definitely not the least, cleaning them up is such a breeze. All you need are wash cloths, sponges, a few drops of commercially produced dish washing liquid and you are good to go. Just remember to always wipe them dry after washing to prevent them from rusting. After cleaning and drying, there is no polishing needed unless if you use or display the accessories outside of the house where they are more susceptible to weather.
